Cool beans! i can't write much cuz i have used all my time writing my friends (sorry, i'll do better next week, but a TON of people wrote me, so that's cool!), this will have to be it, so make sure to show them! i'm alive, doing well, no health problems, have a good companion from the dominican republic named elder nu'nez (should be a squiggly over the second n), can't understand like 90% of what goes on around me, so i kinda just have to follow my companion around and add whatever two cents i can during the lessons, but it's hard to know what to say when i have no idea was said the last twenty minutes :/ but it's alright, nbd :) i'm learning and getting used to a ton of the things around here. i'm not actually in guadalajara itself, but a city a couple hours away called tepic. it's so flipping hot! I always think i'm gonna die! :) well, i guess it's not like WAY hot, but nobody has good AC's, just fans, so that kinda sucks. i have actually been complimented on my ability to speak spanish, and how clear it is, and i'm understanding more and more how to understand them, but it's hard, because they don't speak the same language that i learned in the mtc, they speak mexican! :) it's alright though, just keep praying for me, and i know that i'll be alright!
Well, I have to say, I´m pretty excited to go out monday morning and head to mexico! :) I've loved loved the MTC, the other missionaries here, and the teacher's I've had, but I know that I need to go out now and start teaching and serving the people that actually need my help! I don't have much to say this week, partly because I don't have a lot of time left to say it, but just know that I'm happy and doing well, as well as learning and growing a lot! Good luck with everything, and remember to thank the Lord for all the blessings that we have that are sometimes very easy to take for granted!
So I only have about one week left here at the MTC, which is kinda sad, because I won't be seeing some of my district anymore after the morning of monday the 21st hits, but mostly I'm just pumped to go out and see how bad my spanish actually is!! :) It will be interesting to see if I can actually understand anything of what the first people I talk to are saying, because I feel pretty good right now about at least being able to understand the spanish being spoken by my teachers and fake investigators, but I know that in the field, native speakers are going to be a lot harder to understand. :/ Oh well, I'm still excited to go see what good I can do out there, because I know that my spanish speaking ability isn't nearly as significant as living and doing the right things that allow me to have the Spirit be the real teacher of the people down there. I can't teach or convert people, but the Spirit can. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and that you all know how awesome you are! Remember that the worth of souls is great in the sight of God, so be happy, and always keep in mind who you are!
More of the same good stuff this week! I'll admit that it was pretty strange to be here during the fourth of July, and not participating in all of Bear Lake's awesome festive events, but it was still cool. We got to watch the fireworks at the end of the day for about a half-hour, while eating ice cream, so that's never a bad thing! :) I don't really have much to say here at the MTC, because we just basically follow our schedule that has our day planned out to the second. Oh, except for my Las Vegas trip on the 2nd, on Wednesday! That doesn't happen everyday! It was cool to get out in the real world and talk to a couple of non-members a little bit about the church while on the planes there and back. I wasn't a huge fan of the 112 degree weather, and especially not while I was in a suit! I had to make a personal appearance there at the Mexican Consolate (I'm pretty sure I'm not spelling that word correctly, because it's being underlined in red, but that's alright) in order to receive my visa. Anyway, I hope you are all doing well, and know that I miss you and love you all, but also that I know I am doing the Lord's work, and can feel the Spirit testify to me that I am doing the right thing by being out here! Have a great week!Elder Budge
